PERSONALITY: For a girl who was born into a life of constant battles, magic, and deadly responsibilities, you’d expect to see one of those solemn, anti-social types, right? Fortunately for Whitney, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Stereotypes never seemed to work all that well with her. In high school, she was that a peppy ball of spunk and energy, with the classic Queen Bee attitude going for her. She had a passion of her life’s experiences and to many seemed to have a “conquer the world” air to her. Whatever responsibilities or powers she was charged with, she seemed to be completely unfazed by it. Mainly because for the longest time, she refuses to let her powers... her so called "destiny" rule her life.
Ever an optimist through and through. Whitney has always found that she seems to always see the best in people and situations, or at least tries to. She sees life as what you make of it. If you spend your time hating people, fixating on your burdens, and pushing those close to you away, then you’ll more than likely end up sad, lonely, and bitter. She has always been about having fun and letting loose. Taking a few risks and seizing the day is what she tends to do best, and her ability to get others to do the same is uncanny. Her naturally bubbly, playful personality seems to always shine, especially when she is in her element.
Let’s not be naïve, while admittedly Whitney does sound like a hoot and a half, there is more to the girl than just goodness; everyone has faults after all. For one, this girl can be extremely shallow, and even more often materialistic. She was raised getting what she wanted, so it makes perfect sense that it would come out from time to time. While her maturing over the years has toned it down a bit, she also tends to display signs of being extremely honest, almost to a fault. She has a way for saying how she feels despite other people’s feelings, it’s both her blessing and her curse. If she doesn’t like or trust you, chances are you’ll know it straight away. She isn’t the type of person to play games, it just doesn’t come naturally to her, and it probably never will. Lastly, Whitney is a stubborn mule. If you’re trying to get her to do something she doesn’t want to do, don’t expect it to be easy, she has the will power of a tiger, and isn’t afraid to fight like one if pushed that far.
This girl’s beliefs are probably what most notice the most about her. Her passion for life simply doesn’t stop at her desire to have fun, but it also spreads to her desire to change things she feels needs changing. She has a hardcore idealist view of the world. She believes that most evils are subject to change, and if you work and fight hard enough, things will do just that. Call it naivety or call it spunk, but this girl will fight for things, even if most would consider them a lost cause.

HISTORY: Billie Jenkins never planned on settling down. After being introduced to magic and all of the risks it brought with it, she just couldn't see herself getting married, getting a house, and having kids. It just wasn't in the cards for her. So when she found out she was pregnant after a brief but passionate fling with a fireman in San Antonio, you can bet your ass she was thrown for a loop. While the fling, James Conroy, was far from a father figure, Billie herself took the responsibility of raising a child a lot more seriously than most would have though. While she still stuck to her guns about the marriage part, the farther and father her pregnancy went along, the more she grew fond of the idea of motherhood. She gave birth to Whitney Christine Jenkins on April 15th after moving back to San Francisco. While it was just the two of them in an apartment of the Bay, her connection to the Halliwells seemed to have grown even stronger. She considered them an extension of her family, and from what she could tell, they felt the same about her and Whitney, and that was exactly how she raised her.
While for the Halliwell kids, being magical was one of the most important aspects of life, for Whitney it was quite the opposite. She had always been obsessed with living a normal life. Even as a toddler, while her mother would urge her to exercise her abilities, to hone her powers early so they would grow safely once she got older, Whitney had no interest. It was almost a chore for her. She would have much rather played with her Barbie dolls and tea set than cast spells and making potions. What’s ironic, however, is that her desire to lead a normal life came from fairy tails, the stories her mother told her as a little girl that had been doused with magic and enchantment. In her mind, however, all of the girls in those stories who ended up getting their prince and living happily ever after were Princesses, the ones that didn’t have magic and could live normal lives. So naturally, if she wanted to be a princess, she thought she couldn’t use her magic.
To her mother's dismay, Whitney view on magic didn't seem to change once she got older, which seemed to worry her the older she got. You see, Whitney wasn't like most witches... she could thank her mother for that. As it happened, Billie's power of Projection, what the magical world referred to as "The Ultimate Power" was passed down from Billie to her daughter. Not only did this mean Whitney herself was dangerous, but countless demons and warlock who coveted her power all posed threats to her. Billie knew Whitney couldn't afford to float through life ignoring her magical heritage, so when the girl was 7 years old, she sent her away to Magic School, for training and protection.
To be completely honest, Whitney hated Magic school. While she didn't mind the people, and appreciated the fact that she could attend with a large bulk of the Halliwell kids, she felt as if she were cut off from the real world, and thus found herself pulling away from a lot of the other students. Still, begrudgingly she attended her classes and participated as best she could. Fortunately for her, she also inherited her mother's natural magical aptitude, and did quite well in her classes, despite her lack of patience and desire to get out as soon as possible. It wasn't until she was 15, did her mother finally give in. She took Whitney out of magic school, and enrolled her in the local high school. Needless to say, Whitney was more than ecstatic, and thrived in the the new atmosphere. Even with late start, she found her niche in school effortlessly. She graduated from high school at the top of her class, and managed to get an assortment of scholarships to schools all over the country.
Up until then, it had always been Whitney's dream to graduate from high school and move away, far away from San Francisco. While her and her mother had always been extremely close, she longed for a change. Things took a drastic change for the worst the summer after high school. Now, Whitney hadn't been a stranger to demonic attacks. She grew up with them. This one, however, was different. Typically, her and her mother were more than a match for the ill fated demon or warlock who shimmered or blinked in their home, but this group was smarter. The Brotherhood of the Flame, is what they called themselves. A group of powerful warlocks had been plotting to take the Jenkin's Ultimate Power for themselves. They ended up taking both mother and daughter by surprise, and brought them down to the underworld. To this day, Whitney still isn't quite sure how they did it, but they managed to render both women powerless. It was the first time in Whitney's life she'd ever seen her mother so scared, so helpless. She's convinced they both would have died, and their powers would have gone to the Warlocks had it not been for the Halliwells. They saved them in the nick of time, and brought them back.
That experience had been enough to change Whitney's outlook on everything. Contrary to what she might have felt, she wasn't invincible, and neither was her mother. Leaving the city and going across the country would have left her and her mother vulnerable. She decided then that instead of going to NYU, which is where she had been planning to go, she would attend San Francisco University. Currently, she's in her sophomore year, and studying Journalism. While she's still determined to find a way to separate her magical and normal life successfully, she's slowly beginning to come to terms with her destiny.
